28 years ago, the 'Ya' actor did not take any fee for the role of Veer Savarkar

 


Bollywood: Currently, Randeep Hooda is in the limelight due to the movie Swatantra Veer Savarkar. The trailer was released a few days ago. Randeep Hooda has played the role of Vinayak Damodar Savkar in this movie. But did you know, before Randeep Hooda, Annu Kapoor played the role of Savkar.

In the year 1996, the movie 'Kalapani' directed by Priyadarshan was released. It featured actors like Mohanlal, Amrish Puri, Tabu and Annu Cooper. Annu Kapoor played the role of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar in the movie.

Annu Kapoor had talked about Veer Savarkar's role in an interview. He had said that I am very proud when Matrabhoomi is talked about. Apart from this, during the making of the film, I also visited the cellular jail in Port Blair. Annu Kapoor said that going there is like going on a pilgrimage. (Bollywood)

Didn't take money for the movie 

Annu Kapoor didn't take money for the movie. Actually it was a private thing. It was my decision to work for free and I cannot explain it further. Even though I worked without getting paid. Actually, it wasn't for Kalapani. If one is asked to do a good job he can do the same. Annu Kapoor also said that I think that only the work done should have some meaning.

Randeep's film 'Swaddhatri Veer Savkar' will be released on March 22. Ankita Lokhande will be seen in the lead role in this movie. The trailer of this movie was launched a few days ago.
