PM Modi Pune Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was felicitated with the Lokmanya Tilak Award in Pune on August 1, 2023. PM Modi called it an unforgettable moment. He said that I dedicate this award to 140 crore countrymen. Along with this, Modi announced that he will donate the amount received along with the award to Namami Gange Yojana.

PM Modi said that today is a very important day for me. I am as happy as I am to be here. Some time ago I had darshan of Ganapati in the temple. It is an honor to receive the Lokmanya Tilak Award. This is the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Modi said in his address that responsibilities also increase with awards. I assure the countrymen that, in their service, I will always fulfill their expectations.

Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar on the same stage

Today's grand function was accompanied by PM Modi on the stage with NCP National President Sharad Pawar on one side. On the other side, there was Ajit Pawar, who rebelled against Pawar and joined the government with BJP. Meanwhile, Sharad Pawar and PM Modi also addressed from the same platform. Sharad Pawar also mentioned surgical strikes in his address.

Sharad Pawar wished PM Modi during his address. He said that the first surgical strike in the country was done by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Pawar further said that Bal Gangadhar Tilak had started a newspaper called Kesari while living in Pune and had strongly criticized the British. He used to think that there should not be any kind of pressure on journalists. Celebration of festivals like Ganesh Utsav, Shiva Jayanti started on a large scale under the leadership of Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
