'This' is the only lake that floats

It is a floating lake in Northeast India. Loktak in Manipur state is the only
tarangara lake in the world. Many tourists visit Manipur to see this lake which
is full of many features.
Loktak
Lake in Manipur, Northeast India is a great gift of nature. This lake is
located in Moirang. Loaded with many features, this Loktak lake is very
beautiful and magnificent. The main feature of Loktak Lake is that it is the
only lake in the world that appears to be floating. That is why this lake is
also called floating lake. Loktak lake is famous all over the world due to its

There
are plants floating on the surface of this lake. It gives the impression that
tree trunks are floating on water. The total area of this lake is about 280 sq km. There are many small
islands floating in this lake. The largest island is named Kebul Lamjao. Its
area is 40 sq km. This Kebul Lamjao island
also has a unique feature. Sangai deer are found here in large numbers. Sangai
deer among deer is considered an endangered species. Therefore, if you want to
see these deer in large numbers, you have to visit Loktak Island. Sangai deer
is also the state animal of Manipur. Apart from this, Loktak lake is also a
natural shelter for Rucervus eldi eldi or Manipur bro-antlered deer.
Due to
the vegetation and soil floating in the middle of this Loktak lake, some areas
have become very difficult. One can walk freely on it. Many rare species of
flowers are also found in this area. The 40 square kilometer circular area of the Loktak Lake has been designated as a National
Park by the Government of India under the name Kebul Lamjao. Kabul Lamjao National Park is the
only floating national park in the world. Tourists visiting this park get lost

Due to
this biodiversity in this Loktak lake, this lake has great importance in the
life of Manipuri people. Loktak Lake is also said to be the lifeline of the
local people. Hydroelectricity is generated in Manipur on the water of this lake. The water source here is used for
irrigation and drinking water supply. The lake is also a source of livelihood
for rural fishermen in the area. The Fisheries Department of Manipur has established a Fisheries Center
at Takmu Pat in this area for the development of fisheries.

of all these, Loktak lake attracts tourists. 233 species of aquatic macrophytes
with floating leaves are found in this lake area . So many researchers visit this area
to study rare plant species like Eichhornia crassipes , Phragmites
curca , Oryza sativa , Zizania latifolia , Saccharum latifolium , Arianthus pucerus , etc. The weather in this area is also
always pleasant. So, if you want to visit Northeast India, you should
definitely include Loktak Lake in Manipur.
