Fuldei is celebrated every year from the solstice of Chaitra month. The children of the rural areas of Rudraprayag are eagerly waiting for this. This festival starts from early morning. Maths , temples and houses are decorated early in the morning. Singing spring songs then children walk around the villages. Eight days belong to these children. It is considered to herald the arrival of spring. Instead of placing flowers on the door of the house , children are traditionally given sweets made from amaranth.
On the eighth day the children prepare a mass feast by collecting all the household food and puja materials. After this, the children consume the food themselves only after offering food to Ghogha deity. This inculcates a sense of unity in children from childhood. Their relationship was strong. Although nature is beautiful in areas like Uttarakhand, its monstrous form is also seen here. On such occasions, the support of the citizens of our village is necessary. That is why it is said that the relationship between them should be strong. Festivals like Fuldei strengthen bonds between children right from childhood.
Ghogha deity holds
importance in Fuldei festival. For this, children bring stones from the
mountains in their area and worship it. Behind it is the message of
connecting with nature. The festival started from Uttarakhand Chief
Minister Dhami's house. From last year Uttarakhand has started celebrating
this Fuldei festival as Balotsav. (Uttarakhand)
