in the second part. It is a MICR code which stands for Magnetic Ink
Character Recognition. These numbers are divided into three different
parts. It shows the city, bank and branch where the check is
issued. This in a way tells about your bank branch. By looking at
this number, you can know from which city the check has come. The next
three digits are the unique code of the bank. Through this code you can
get more information about the bank. The last three digits are the branch

The last six digits

by RBI. This number helps when the check goes to RBI for
processing. The last two digits are the transaction code. From this
