How Shamima became a 'jihadi bride'

Shamima Begum, who has been described as a jihadi bride, has had her appeal for British citizenship rejected once again. After this news, a discussion has started about who exactly is Shamima Begum, who is called Jihadi bride. In 2015, at the age of just 15, Shamima, who was living in Britain, was so influenced by the thought of ISIS that she fled Britain. Later Shamima joined the ISIS organization. Then she realized what ISIS was, but it was too late. Shamima was tortured many times. Although Shamima has been released from the clutches of terrorists, she is stuck in Syria. London-born Bangladeshi-born Shamima Begum needs British citizenship to return from Syria. Shamima Begum's journey from Britain to Syria holds up a mirror for misguided youth like her.

Shamima's incident is seen as a vivid example of how children are lured by terrorist organizations at a young age. Shamima lived in Bethnal, Britain. At the age of 15, she came into contact with ISIS terrorists. His thinking was effective. Our aim is to establish Islamic rule throughout the world. It was impressed upon her that Shamima could play a major role in it. The terrorists who befriended her urged her to come to Syria. Shamima reached Syria with two friends. After going there, she was married to a terrorist. She was referred to as a jihadi bride. Her photos were also used by the terrorists to attract other youths to their organization. Shamima was in contact with Aqsa Mahmood, a 20-year-old woman from Glasgow. Aqsa was the first British woman to join ISIS in 2013. It was she who helped to take Shamima to Syria. Aqsa was a member of ISIS' Al-Khansa Brigade. By this brigade, young women from Britain were being recruited into terrorist groups. All these churches were in touch with the youth through social media.

After going to Syria with this group, Shamima immediately joined ISIS. She is married to Jago Riedick, a Dutch national. Riddick also converted to Islam and joined ISIS. After that, Shamima also had two children. But they died of malnutrition and disease. During all this, Shamima was trying to recruit other young women to join ISIS. She was active in al-Hisba, the religious unit of ISIS.

Shamima used to make suicide jackets for ISIS. These jackets, once put on, could not be taken off. Through this, Shamima's jacket has killed many people. A jacket designed by Shami was worn by terrorists in the 2017 Manchester Arena attack. But later Shamima became aware of the reality. She hoped to live a happy life with ISIS. But the atmosphere in Syria changed her mind. In 2019, Shamima started living in a refugee camp in Syria. She appeared in the media with her newborn son and started trying to get back to Britain. Through social media, she requested the British government to take her back to Britain. She also admitted that some friends misled me when I left Britain at 15.

Shamima launched a legal battle to return to Britain. After the Special Immigration Appeals Commission, her case went to the Court of Appeals. However, the appellate judges unanimously agreed with the decision of the Special Tribunal and dismissed Shamima's appeal. Sentencing in London, Judge Dame Sue Carr dismissed Shamima's appeal, saying she had decided to join ISIS on her own, and was then involved in ISIS terrorist activities.
Shamima Begum is currently living in a refugee camp in northern Syria. All her family members are British citizens. But now all the doors are closed for Shamima to come back to Britain.
