Announcement of Shri Badrinath Dham Yatra
The
date of opening the doors of Sri Badrinath Dham, one of the most important
Dhams in the Char Dham Yatra, which is considered very sacred in Hinduism, has
been announced. The date was announced from the palace in Tehri on the
auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami. The doors of Sri Badrinath Dham
will be opened on May 12 at 6 am on Brahmamuhurta. Maharaj Manujayendra
Shah of Tehri announced
this date from his palace in Narendra Nagar , Tehri. The date of opening the doors of Badrinath Dham (Shree Badrinath
Temple) is decided according to the king's horoscope. Complete rituals are
followed in this centuries-old tradition.
On the
auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami, a religious program organized at the
Rajdarbar in Narendranagar Tehri announced when the door of Sri Badrinath Dham
will be opened. On this occasion, Maharaj Manujendra Sah performed puja
ritually. After that, the date of opening the doors of Badrinath Dham was
announced by looking at the Panchang. A gadoo filled with sesame oil
containing this most important part will be sent to the Badrinath temple from
the Narendranagar Raj Mahal on April 25. As the doors of Badrinath Dham
have been announced, the devotees have started preparing for the Chardham
Yatra. Of
course , the opening dates of Kedarnath Dham and Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham, which are important parts of this
Yatra, have not been announced yet. It will be announced on the occasion of Shivratri when these dates
will be announced.
Badrinath
Dham (Shree Badrinath Temple) is a sacred pilgrimage site on the banks of
Alaknanda river between two mountains, Nar and Narayan. Last year, a
record number of devotees reached Badrinath Dham for the darshan of Badri
Vishal. The number of devotees coming here is increasing every year. Here
Lord Narayana is seated in yoga posture. This Dham is also called Bhu-vaikuntha. It
is believed that when Badrinath Dham is closed for six months, it is worshiped
by the deities. It is believed that the deities visit this place in winter
to worship Lord Narayana. Only the head priest has the right to touch the
main idol in the Badrinath temple. The head priests of the Kedarnath and
Badrinath temples are said to be Namboodiri Brahmins from Kerala. He is a descendant of Rawal Adi Shankaracharya. It is
known that Shankaracharya himself arranged the worship of Raval. If these
Rawals are not present in the temple, Lord Narayana is worshiped by Dimri
Brahmins. Rawal is worshiped as a deity in Badrinath. He is
considered as a form of Goddess Parvati.
The
process of opening and closing the doors of Badrinath Dham is very interesting. The
date of opening the doors of Badrinath Dham is decided according to the king's
horoscope. The date is decided every year on Vasant Panchami in the royal
court of Tehri. This auspicious date is determined by looking at the
compatibility of the planets in the king's horoscope. Then Maharaj
announces that date. It has been a tradition for thousands of years from
the royal family of Tehri Durbar to carry the Kalash of Lord Badrinath. Sudarshan
Shah, the first king of the Tehri dynasty, was named Bolanda Badrish by the
people. In earlier times, devotees who could not reach Badri Vishal to
have darshan of the king , were
believed to receive
merit like Dham darshan just by darshan of the king . Devotees used to salute this Gadu
too. Since then this tank is being filled with oil.
At
the time of opening the doors of Badrinath Dham (Shree Badrinath Temple), this
gadu is ceremoniously carried into the Dham. Lord Badri Vishal is the
patriarch of Tehri Raja. That is why it is announced when the doors of the
Dham will be opened by looking at the horoscope of the king of the Tehri royal
family. This date is announced when the queen of Tehri dynasty extracts sesame oil and it is filled in the traditional
gudu. Earlier , Rani Rajya Lakshmi Shah fasts
with married women at Narendra Nagar Palace . Wears yellow clothes. After extracting sesame oil, this oil
is filled in a jar. He is called Gadu Ghagri. After that this oil urn
is kept in Sri Lakshmi Narayan temple in Dimer village. The same sesame
oil is used in the Dham for six months at the time of opening the doors of the
Dham. This sesame oil keeps the eternal flame lit.
