Vaishno Devi near Deel Shivkhori Caves of Mystery

The temple of Mata Vaishno Devi in ​​Jammu and Kashmir is famous not only in the country but also abroad. This holy place of Vaishno Devi is always crowded with devotees. But there is another holy place near this temple of Mata Vaishno Devi, which is believed to be the actual abode of Lord Shankara. This mysterious cave near Vaishno Devi is called Shivkhori Guha. Devotees believe that Lord Shankar lives with his entire family in this cave. Apart from this, this cave is in the shape of a tarmac, and devotees can go into it for a certain distance. But no one can go to the end of the cave. One end of this cave is said to be connected with the Amarnath cave. That is why there is great curiosity among Shiva devotees about this mysterious cave. (cavern mystery)

The structure of Shivkhodi cave is natural. It is known that the other end of this cave is connected with Amarnath cave. Inside Shivkhodi cave there is a big Shivlinga for the worship of Lord Shankara . This Shivlinga is known as Shivkhodi Shivlinga. There is a natural source of water here and Abhishekam is constantly performed on this Shivlinga. Lord Shankar actually did penance for thousands of years at this holy place. Worshipers of this Shiv Linga say that Lord Shankar resides in this cave along with his entire family and clans. (cavern mystery)

The path leading to this cave is very narrow but inside the cave is so wide and huge that the devotees are amazed. There are two paths in the inner part of this cave, one path is connected with Amarnath cave and the other path is said to be the path to heaven. Many wonder who created such a mysterious cave and why. A story is told that this mysterious cave was made by Lord Shankara to save him from a demon called Bhasmasura. (cavern mystery)

The demon Bhasmasur pleased Lord Shankara by doing penance. I also asked God for a boon, whoever I put my hands on would burn and start fighting with Shankara. A fierce battle took place between Lord Shankara and Bhasmasura at Ransu. Due to this war, this area got the name Ransu. Lord Shankar could not kill Bhasmasura during the war because of his boon. Then Lord Shankara made a cave in the mountains to get rid of Bhasmasura and started meditating in it. The cave built by Lord Shankar was named Shiva Khodi Guha. Later Lord Vishnu assumed the form of Mohini and killed Bhasmasura. Lord Shankar came out of this cave after burning Bhasmasura to ashes. (cavern mystery)

Khori means cave in the local language. Devotees are allowed to go up to 130 meters in this Shivkhori cave. No one can move due to lack of oxygen. It is said that those who ventured never returned. The cave entrance is about 20 feet wide and 22 feet high. While entering the cave, one can see the natural picture of a huge snake like Sheshnag. The Shivlinga in the cave is also four feet tall. The special feature of this Shivalinga is that, just above the Shivalinga , there is a cow-like figure. She is said to be Kamdhenu. The idols of Mother Parvati , Ganesha , Kartikeya and Nandi can be seen in this cave. Along with this there are idols of seven sages , Pandavas and Ram-Sita, Hanuman. This entire Shivkhodi cave is filled with many natural images . It is said to have images of 33 crore deities and their vehicles. There is a round mark on the main part of the roof of the cave. This symbol is said to be the figure of Lord Vishnu's Sudarshan Chakra. In the second part of this cave, Goddesses Mahakali and Mahasaraswati are located. Many people tried to know the secret of this Shivkhori cave. But this cave of Shiv Shankar is still full of many secrets.
