What exactly is the difference between IB and RAW?

Countries around the world allocate a large amount of money in their budgets for the security of the country to keep their enemies at bay. This amount is used to purchase modern weapons or to create organizations that will contribute to the security of the country. America has some organizations like CIA, Russia's KGB, Israel has Mossad. So India also has secret agencies like IB, RAW. A country that already recognizes the growing dangers. Although both these agencies have the same objective, their method of working is different. (IB vs RAW)

What is IB (Intelligence Bureau)?

The Intelligence Bureau handles domestic security. This agency works under the Ministry of Home Affairs. It was established in 1887 as a Central Special Branch. In 1920 it was renamed as Intelligence Bureau. Its main task is to monitor national security activities. The special thing is that it is recognized as one of the oldest secret agencies in the world.

Let's look at the Research and Analysis Wing

At the time of establishment, the IB was responsible for internal and external intelligence. In 1968, the IB was relegated to internal security only and a new Research and Analysis Wing, RAW, was formed. In fact, between the wars of 1962 and 1965, the IB failed to gather the kind of intelligence that India needed. That is why RAW was established. RAW directly collects intelligence and provides it to the Indian Army. Its main task is to monitor the movements of China and Pakistan.

The difference between RAW and IB is that

RAW has an analysis wing in the country that provides advice on external threats. Whereas the IB's job is to gather intelligence on domestic threats. IB collects counter-intelligence, counter-intelligence, intelligence from border areas. While the RAW collects information about the clandestine activities in the country. The IB reports to the Ministry of Home Affairs while the RAW reports directly to the Prime Minister's Office. (IB vs RAW)
